The catalog is bilingual (English and Hebrew), and is arranged geographically and chronologically. It consists of two volumes. Volume I has 868 pages and Volume II, 544. The catalog offers 154 reproductions, three of which are in color. Entries are ordered according to the country and city of the press, the printer, and the date. Each entry is divided into five parts: a brief bibliographical description of the unique qualities of the particular copy or edition, a bibliography pertaining to the copy or edition, and notes. In addition, each entry is accompanied by at least one plate illustrating the qualities of the volume in question. Finally, the catalog includes extensive indices of titles, authors, printers, former owners of the volumes, censors and censors' marks, watermarks, and volumes printed on vellum. One of the most notable features of the catalog is Shimon Iakerson's Lengthy introduction, which includes an enlightening discussion of the canon of early Hebrew printed books.
